Youth Fellowship: The Y.F. meets tonight, 27th August in the Tain manse. There will be a quiz.
Road to Recovery Road to Recovery will meet in hall at 7.30pm
Tain Lunch Club. Meets from 12pm-2pm. Team 5will be on duty.
Midweek Meeting: Our architect will present the plans for the new church at the meeting in the church at 7:30pm. See Note New Church Plans below.
Casan Beaga. Parent and Toddlers meets in the Hall at 10 am.

New Church Plans: The new church plans will be displayed at a meeting in the church this Wednesday. The architect, Billy Reynolds will be there to answer any questions. The plans will remain on display for some time to allow people to study them in greater detail and feedback to the Deacons Court.
Property Upkeep Fund: There is a collection at the close of both services next Sunday for the Property Upkeep Fund.
Challenger Bus: We expect to have the Challenger Bus with us on the first week of September. A team of seven will arrive on Saturday 2nd September and depart on the evening of Friday 8th September. Accommodation and meals have now been arranged for the week. Thanks to all who offered to help. If you are able to help during the week, please speak to the minister.
Bible Study: It is being proposed that the planned Bible study will take place on a Tuesday evening. It is likely to be led by David Wilkie. If anyone is happy to host it in their home, please let the minister know.
Tain Communion: The guest preacher at our communion weekend on 16th and 17th September will be Rev. Iver Martin. The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at the evening service. If anyone connected to the congregation wishes to profess their faith, and take communion for the first time, they should speak to the minister or any of the elders.
Highland Food Bank: During the month of August, the Highland Food Bank would be grateful for donations of the following items: Long Grain Rice; Tins of Tomatoes; Tins of Corned Beef; Cat/Dog Food. Also needed are new or used supermarket “Bags For Life”. Boxes will be available at each door for contributions. The Foodbank would like to say a huge “thank you” to Tain and Fearn Free Church for its previous support.
Sutherland Christian Convention: This takes place in Dornoch Academy from Friday to Sunday, 1st to 3rd September each evening at 7.30 pm but at 8.15 pm on the Sunday. The speaker is Rev Professor Drew Gibson from Union Theological College in Belfast.
ETS Courses: Edinburgh Theological Seminary will begin its Saturday Lectures in mid-September. There is a leaflet on the notice-board and a list of the subjects covered. The course can be done online at a time that suits the individual. ETS also has an Access to Theology course on a Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, September to May and this can also be done by distance learning. Also available to do remotely is a course on Presbyterianism. You can study the literature or speak to the minister if you wish more information.
New Church Fundraising Events
Calendars: 2018 Calendars are now available and can be purchased anytime. They cost £5.00 Thanks to all those who contributed photos and please continue to take photos which may be used in future years.
Easy Fundraising: We now have an easyfundraising account. If you shop online, the church can gain a donation for every purchase you make from numerous retailers, at no cost to you. You can sign up at the following site easyfundraising.org.uk then follow the simple instructions to join. This service is free every time for both yourself and the church.
Gift Aid Forms: Along with your bulletin today is a Gift Aid Form. If you donate money to the church and you are a tax-payer – the congregation can gain additional income at no cost to you. Therefore we would urge you to fill in this Gift Aid Form unless you have already done so. Last year we received almost £20,000 back from the government in Gift Aid.
