Women For Mission: meets at 2.30 pm in the Hall (see below).


Communion Weekend:   Our guest preacher at the communion next weekend is Rev. Iver Martin who is Principal of Edinburgh Theological Seminary.    Principal Martin will preach on Saturday night and at both Sunday services.   The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at the evening service.  There will be fellowship in the manse on Saturday night and in the church hall on Sunday night.  If anyone connected to the congregation wishes to profess their faith, and take communion for the first time, they should speak to the minister or any of the elders.  


There will be a  Preparatory Service  tonight at 7:30 pm.

Congregational Meeting: 

The Kirk Session has called a Congregational Meeting for Monday 18th September to seek the congregation’s view on calling an assistant minister.  The meeting will be in the church in Tain at 7:30 pm.

Challenger Bus:  Thanks to everyone who helped with the Challenger Bus event this week whether by hosting team members, feeding the team or being there in the evenings to assist in the smooth running of the event.   Please continue to pray that this work will be a blessing to our community.  

Foodbank: The Highland Foodbank would like to thank Tain and Fearn Free Church for their recent donation of 58.58 kg in August.

Women For Mission:  There will be a Women For Mission meeting in our Church Hall on Friday, 15th September, at 2.30 pm.  Cathy and Christine, from Rosskeen Free Church, will give an update on their ‘Bear Necessities’ charity work in Bulgaria.  They will introduce the Bulgarian pastor with whom they work.  His wife and daughter will also be present.  Tea and refreshments will be served.  All are welcome.  Bring a friend!  

Rosskeen Ladies Meeting:  The first meeting of the new session will be on Monday 11 Sept at 7.30 pm in Rosskeen Church Hall.  The speaker will be Sebrina Ganusheva from the Christian charity Bear Necessities.

New Church Plans:  The new church plans are on display in the church hall.   If you wish to give feedback, please fill in one of the sheets that are through in the hall.

Health Centre Clean-Up:  It is planned to tidy up around the health centre on Saturday 23rd August starting at 10am.

Bible Study:  The Bible Study will begin on Tuesday 26th September at 7:30 PM at the home of David and Anne Wilkie, 10 Duthac Wynd.  The group will meet fortnightly and the venue may change.  The study will be on Philippians and study booklets are available from David.  Each study is self contained and the aim is to generate informal discussion.   Advance preparation for the study is not necessary and no-one will be expected to speak unless they wish to.

Northern Convention The convention will take place in Castle Street Church, Dingwall from Sun 24th – Thurs 28th September.   The main speaker is Rev. Ian Hamilton.   More details on the notice board poster. 

ETS Courses:  Edinburgh Theological Seminary will begin its Saturday Lectures in mid-September.   There is a leaflet on the notice-board and a list of the subjects covered.   The course can be done online at a time that suits the individual.    ETS also has an Access to Theology course on a Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, September to May and this can also be done by distance learning.     Also available to do remotely is a course on Presbyterianism.   You can study the literature or speak to the minister if you wish more information.

New Church Fundraising Events

Calendars:  2018 Calendars are now available and can be purchased anytime.   They cost £5.00 Thanks to all those who contributed photos and please continue to take photos which may be used in future years.

Easy Fundraising:  We now have an easyfundraising account.   If you shop online, the church can gain a donation for every purchase you make from numerous retailers, at no cost to you.   You can sign up at the following site easyfundraising.org.uk    then follow the simple instructions to join. This service is free every time for both yourself and the church.

Gift Aid Forms:  Along with your bulletin today is a Gift Aid Form.   If you donate money to the church and you are a tax-payer – the congregation can gain additional income at no cost to you.  Therefore we would urge you to fill in this Gift Aid Form unless you have already done so.   Last year we received almost £20,000 back from the government in Gift Aid.
